Faith Formation
Introduction to Confirmation (9:00-10:15 am): September 20, 2009 Parents should attend this meeting along with their 9th grade student to learn
about the requirements and expectations of the program. Our Confirmation program
takes place in 9th and 10th grades with Confirmation taking place in 10th grade.
If your 10th grade student did not attend last year, you can learn about the
additional requirements and options. For those 10th grade students who have
completed all of the program requirements, Confirmation will take place on
Sunday, April 18th at the Cathedral in St. Paul at 2:00 pm.
All students are encouraged to grow in their faith by participating actively
in our Faith Formation program. We use the Finding God series and meet in the
classrooms on the first and second floor. Registration takes place September 13th
in the hallway. Watch for more information in the bulletin.
Join us for some thought provoking topics. Watch the bulletin for topics and
speakers. No registration is required. There is no fee, however, a freewill
offering will be accepted. Childcare is available in the Trinity Room.
All students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to attend this retreat. It takes
place at the Castaway Club in Detroit Lakes. Facilitated by the Side By Side
Ministry team of college students and adult volunteers, this retreat brings
relevance to high-energy themes with messages that connect today’s youth culture
to the message of Christ. Group leaders connect with the students in a lasting way
through games, dramas, live music and small groups.
Students in 2nd grade and above are welcome to prepare for First Penance and
Eucharist. In the fall, we focus on First Penance with the sacrament being received
in January. Preparation for First Communion follows in January with the sacrament
being received in May. Parents should attend this meeting to receive instructional
books and guidance. Registration for Sacramental Preparation for First Penance and
Eucharist takes place on September 13.
This is the primary vehicle for persons discerning membership in the Catholic Community. RCIA classes are sched-uled weekly from October until the Easter Vigil. Participants gather to learn and ask questions about the Catholic faith in order to join the Church or review and renew their faith. Rites are celebrated during a Sunday Liturgy: the Rite of Welcome at the beginning of Advent and the Rite of Election as Lent begins. The candidates are accepted into the Church during the Easter Vigil. There is no fee, however, a freewill offering is accepted. To register, call the Parish office at (952) 926-7516. Please contact Jane Flannigan (952) 926-7516 ext. 201
to register and for information.
