St. Louis Park Emergency Program (S.T.E.P.)

Neighbors helping neighbors.

Working in partnership with the community, STEP is a non-profit organization serving the needs of St. Louis Park by promoting a healthy, inclusive community and providing opportunities for people who want to help others.

STEP social workers provide a variety of valuable services to promote family stability. With the generous support of a caring community, STEP assists eligible residents of Saint Louis Park to meet basic needs of food, housing, transportation, health care and clothing. In 2001, STEP distributed over 191,000 pounds of food, distributed over 3,100 bags of clothing, provided over 23,000 miles of transportation, distributed Christmas toys to over 500 children, and assisted over 400 students with school supplies in addition to other services.

Most Holy Trinity plays a strong role in STEP activities through volunteer efforts, the Trinity Connection , and school functions. Since 1991, Most Holy Trinity has donated almost 6,000 pounds of food and donated over $70,000 dollars.

Several members of Most Holy Trinity also volunteer their time and talents to support STEP. STEP volunteers, from various neighborhoods and faith communities including Most Holy Trinity, donated over 11,000 hours of service during 2001. Rewarding volunteer opportunities include working on the Food Shelf, providing transportation assistance, working in the Clothes Closet, providing program/administrative support, assisting with fundamental household tasks, participating in the holiday program to distribute meals and toys, and assisting with back to school supplies.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, tax-deductible donations of cash, clothing, household items, non-perishable food items, and personal care items are welcome. Your support will stay in St. Louis Park to give a hand to neighbors in our community.
