School Liturgy

A weekly Mass celebration is an integral part of who we are at Most Holy Trinity. Each Mass is prepared by one of the classes and rehearsed throughout the week during Religion time. This is a student liturgy where students and staff are actively involved in all aspects of the celebration.

During the school year, approximately 35-40 weekly celebrations are prepared and delivered by the children.  In addition to the weekly Masses, there are prayer services held during different seasons of the church year.  Some of the special celebrations that the students and faculty prepare are listed below.

  • All Saint's Day Mass - First graders dress as their favorite saint and recite some facts they learned about their saint during the homily.
  • The Living Rosary - This is said during the month of October.  Each of the beads on the Rosary is represented by a student holding a candle.
  • Epiphany Mass - Students dress as the three wise men and process in at the beginning of Mass. They present the baby Jesus with gold, frankincense and myrrh.
  • Catholic Schools Week Mass - Students of all grades are involved in this Sunday Mass celebration.  This is a unique opportunity for our school to share a Mass with the parish congregation.
  • May Crowning - The kindergarten class prepares this celebration. There is a special procession where the children present flowers to a statue of Mary in front of the altar.

Thanksgiving Day Mass

Students are dressed in traditional Thanksgiving costumes and participate in the various parts of the Mass.

A student reads the weekly scripture.

Some fifth grade students reenact the biblical story of Jesus calling Zacchaeus down from the tree. This is an example of a gospel message prepared by the students. This message is given after Father's homily.
